LONDON — A British man has been given a life sentence after being convicted of raping five women and attacking two others that he met on dating website Match.com
Using two separate accounts, Jason Lawrance, 50, persuaded the women to give their personal contact details to him, saying that he couldn’t upload his profile photo to the site, according to Derbyshire Police.
When the women asked to see his photo, Lawrance would send it to their personal email address moving the conversation off the site. He was sentenced Thursday at Derby Crown Court after being found guilty a day earlier of five counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and one count of sexual assault. He denied the charges.
